The course objective is to enhance a farmer’s skills through an increased understanding of the agronomic factors of plant stand management and the ability to apply that understanding to proper selection and configuration of soil management equipment.

This course is designed to develop an understanding of the agronomic factors related to primary tillage through the management of the controllable factors that affect soil tilth. Topics related to Soil Tilth, Compaction, Water Infiltration and Root Growth are covered. This course is designed for both new and experienced people to the topic of water management. The course objective is to enhance the person’s skills through an increased understanding of the agronomic factors related to primary tillage and management of the soil profile, and applying that understanding to the proper selection and configuration of soil management equipment. This course should take about 1.5 hours.
